Regional Inception Conference
On June 26-27, 2014, the Regional Environmental Centre for the Caucasus will organize a Regional Inception Conference on fostering green growth in three South Caucasus countries through application of innovative financing mechanisms for natural resource management under the project "Mainstreaming the payment for ecosystem services for green growth in South Caucasus"
and
Regional Conference on policy and legal frameworks analysis in terms of consideration of Cleaner Production in South Caucasus organized within the framework of the project "Strengthen cleaner production policy and practice in the South Caucasus countries through applying integrated and preventive environmental strategy", funded by the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The overall objective of the project "Strengthen cleaner production policy and practice in the South Caucasus countries through applying integrated and preventive environmental strategy", is to identify policy options and legal, regulatory, economic, financial, and informative/educational instruments for overcoming existing barriers in the introduction and implementation of Cleaner Production in three South Caucasus countries.
The overall objective of the project "Mainstreaming the Payment for Ecosystem Services for Green Growth in South Caucasus" is to enhancing the policies and legal instruments for green growth in South Caucasus; Strengthening institutional frameworks and capacity and Fostering incentives for private sector contribution to green growth.
The Conference is aimed at introduction of the project outputs to major stakeholders and interested parties, presenting and discussing countries' national policy and legal frameworks analysis on Cleaner Production and mainstreaming the Payment for Ecosystem Services for Green Growth in South Caucasus and discussing package of recommendations for further improvements.
During the conference national reports, latest results and further activities will also be presented by project experts. Cleaner Production in South Caucasus web-site is planned to launch at the conference.
The conference is taking place on June 26-27, 2014, at 10:00 at Hotel "TORI" located at 10, G. Tchanturia Street, Tbilisi, Georgia.
