Youth-Friendly Reproductive Health Medical-Information Center  was opend in Gurjaani


On August 29, 2009 in the frame of the  EU/UNFPA co-funded project "Reproductive Health Initiative For Youth in the South Caucasus"(RHIYC) was opend Youth-Friendly Reproductive Health Medical-Information Center in Gurjaani, at "Gurjaani Policlinic-Ambulatory Union" (28 Rustaveli st.)The Youth Reproductive Health (RH) Center will provide young people with free RH counseling, contraceptives, affordable diagnostic and treatment, as well as wide range of information on reproductive health issues.
It is remarkable, that opening of youth friendly reproductive health medical-information centers and establishment RH centers network throughout the Georgia, marks the  15 years anniversary of International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD),  with impressive results, new priorities and expanded partnerships in support to youth Reproductive Health and sustainable development.

RHIYC project aims at making sustainable improvement of reproductive health (RH) and rights of youth. One of the major objectives of the project is to improve the access of young people to youth friendly reproductive health services. In the frame of this component 16 Youth RH Medical-information Center opened all over the Georgia.
After the opening of RH center NGO "Tanadgoma" provided the training for local young people on issues, related to S&R Health and Rights. These peer educators will collaborate with RH center and will share received information with other peers. The participants of the training course awarded the certificates.

" Openin Youth-Friendly Reproductive Health Medical-Information Center  in Gurjaani is very important, it will serve youths not only in Gurjaani, but in whole Kakheti region. Today such Youth RH Medical-information Centers are ,equiped according to the international standards and functioning  all over the Georgia.They collaborate intensively with youth and all stakeholders, "-stated Tamar Khomasuridze - Assistant Representative, UNFPA Georgia Country Office.
